And I don’t like it when a dress distracts the attention away from Veronika’s face. I find it more sexy when a girl is undone, when she isn’t wearing makeup. Personally I do like her best in black jeans, black boots, and a black tee. I think fashion is all about contrasts, and the idea of someone as fun as and laid-back as her in a sophisticated look works so perfectly. I remember when Raf Simons did those longer mid-century modern dresses for Jil Sander’s spring 2011 collection and suggesting them to Veronika even though it was very different to her style. Our tastes are quite different on the whole. My initial attraction had nothing to do with her style (I am a man after all!), although I do remember that what she was wearing that day-high-waisted Levi’s denim shorts and a white tee with a motorcycle jacket and Acne Studios ankle boots.Īs a man, I don’t get to wear the clothes I buy for the site but with Veronika I get to see the clothes come to life. I love all his perfectly tailored suits and ties, and often I borrow his coats, which comes in handy when we’re traveling. Justin is very particular about clothes, but of course that comes with the job. He’s helped me figure out that the simpler pieces look best given my height, and that can be as basic as a black tee and black pants. My boyfriend Justin is always very honest with me, and he’ll tell me when something doesn’t look flattering even when I’m very attached to a certain look. Often though, the things that I like don’t necessarily suit me.
